FIRST PROJECTS
Choose something
you’d actually use.
A small, familiar task is easier to describe—and more satisfying to finish.
A useful little calculator
Calculate a recipe quantity, a unit conversion, or a weekly total.
TRY ASKING
“Help me make a recipe calculator that changes ingredient amounts when I change the number of servings.”
A personal checklist
Keep a simple list of things to pack, read, or finish.
TRY ASKING
“Help me build a checklist that works in my browser. Start with adding items and marking them done.”
A file-organizing helper
Explore a repetitive task using copies of sample files.
TRY ASKING
“Help me preview how to rename sample files by date. Show the proposed changes before changing any files.”
Make the first version smaller.
Ask for one useful feature first. Try it before adding another. If the task involves files, work with sample copies while you learn.
