Codex Development
Workspace

GET STARTED

Your first project,
one step at a time.

You don’t need to prepare a perfect specification. A clear, small goal is enough to start a conversation.

01

Choose your setup

Purchase the Windows installer for $10 from the download page. After payment, download and run it. Choose a dedicated short folder such as C:\CDW; setup installs the included development tools and launcher automatically.

02

Make a project folder

Give your project its own folder with a clear name, such as My First Website. Open the Codex Development Workspace launcher and select that folder in the Windows folder browser.

03

Launch Codex and sign in

Open Codex in your project folder. You’ll need an internet connection and an account with access to Codex, or another supported authentication method.

04

Describe one small goal

Tell Codex what you want to make and that you are a beginner. Ask it to explain the steps, how to run the result, and how to test it.

05

Try it. Ask for one change.

Open or run what you built. Describe what happened. Ask questions and improve one thing at a time. Keep a working copy before making major changes.

A GOOD FIRST MESSAGE

“I’m new to programming. Help me build a simple webpage. Explain each step and show me how to test it.”

Ask Codex to keep the first version simple and explain unfamiliar words.
